PCEH Announces Second Grant Recipient: Pathways Housing Wellness Corporation

Philadelphia Committee To End Homelessness is thrilled to announce the next recipient of our grant funding, Pathways Housing Wellness Corporation (PHWC), an initiative of Pathways to Housing, PA. PHWC is a nonprofit affordable housing developer that aims to improve health outcomes for low-income people in Philadelphia by pairing safe, secure, and affordable housing with high-quality wrap-around services to address behavioral and physical health issues.

Established in 2020, PHWC understands that stronger communities are a result of stable housing for all. Pathways uses a Housing First model, providing homes without preconditions then addressing underlying issues around mental health, substance use, medical care, and education. PHWC was born out of a growing need for affordable housing in the city, not only for Pathways program participants, but for all low-income Philadelphia residents.

With funding from PCEH, PHWC’s goal is to become a vital, self-sustaining organization in the next five years, with the ability to finish one development per year in perpetuity, starting with Phase I of the 17th Street Community Corridor in 2027. This project will create and lease 20-50 new affordable housing units every year, giving more Philadelphians the opportunity for stable housing.
