Philadelphia Committee To End Homelessness is excited to announce our next grant recipient, the Philadelphia Community Land Trust (PCLT). PCLT is a low-income housing provider made up of member households experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity.

Established in 2020, PCLT was formed out of a housing occupation and encampment protest that included hundreds of unhoused families, individuals and supporters. The PCLT advances the human right to housing through the removal of land and housing from the market, preserving it for community use through democratic self-management by residents and community members who align with their principles.
With funding from PCEH, Philadelphia Community Land Trust will be able to expand their operation and support essential repairs and upgrades to their nine-unit scattered site of single-family row-homes in Philadelphia.

As PCLT continues its work renovating and legalizing formerly vacant houses for use as low-income housing, PCLT has also initiated a community garden project and a weekly community food distribution.
